About me
I'm a software developer at Softwire and a recent Computer Science graduate from the University of Cambridge. I'm passionate about building high-performance systems, low-latency software, and scalable backend services.
My work spans systems programming in C++20, backend engineering in Go, and full-stack development with React and Next.js. I've built lock-free data structures for HFT-style workloads, explored kernel bypass networking with DPDK, and trained generative AI models for my undergraduate dissertation.
Outside of code, I enjoy boxing and strength training. I'm always looking for opportunities to work on technically challenging problems — especially at the intersection of systems, networking, and distributed computing.
Curriculum Vitae
Experience
Software Developer
Softwire • 2026 - Present
Full-time software developer working on client projects across the full stack. Building production services and collaborating in agile delivery teams.
Software Development Intern
Softwire • Jul 2025 - Aug 2025
Designed and implemented a PostgreSQL database schema and RESTful Go APIs for a community check-in system. Built a responsive React frontend with QR-code check-in UX. Integrated Supabase auth with JWT and deployed via AWS Lambda in an agile team using TDD, Docker, and CI/CD.
Machine Learning Intern
Quantinuum • Jul 2022 – Oct 2022
Developed deep learning models to denoise quantum circuits across 2000+ samples. Improved accuracy of noisy circuit outputs by over 10% with a custom RNN architecture, exceeding published baselines. Produced a formal research report documenting findings.
Education
BA Computer Science - 2:1 Honours
University of Cambridge • Oct 2021 - Jul 2025
Dissertation on comparative evaluation of GAN and Diffusion generative models, including a hybrid architecture that improved baseline FID scores. Modules included Principles of Communications, Advanced Computer Architecture, Optimising Compilers, NLP, and Information Theory.
Projects
Low-Latency Packet Processing Engine
In ProgressA multithreaded packet processing pipeline using DPDK in C++ that bypasses the kernel to parse IP packets in user space, eliminating context switches and copy overheads. Designed with NUMA-awareness, batching, and cache-line alignment for optimised throughput and tail latency.
Low-Latency Limit Order Book Engine
CompletedA lock-free, high-performance limit order book engine in C++20 for HFT-style workloads. Features custom N SPSC ring buffers, backpressure, and cache-aware design. Achieved ~150ns P50 / ~1µs P99 latency and 1.1M ops/sec throughput through careful memory ordering, prefaulting, and fixed-size pools.
Portfolio Website
CompletedPersonal portfolio built with Next.js 16, Sanity CMS, and Tailwind CSS. Features server-side rendering, incremental static regeneration, a semantic design token system with automatic dark mode, and fully decoupled presentational components.
Pookie-Press - Real-Time Couples App
CompletedReal-time couples app built with Next.js 16, TypeScript, and a custom C++ WebSocket server on AWS EC2. Scaled to 2.5M msg/sec across 600 clients with sub-32 ms P99 latency using zero-copy MessagePack fan-out. Deployed on Vercel with PostgreSQL, Upstash Redis, S3 image uploads, and Ansible-automated infrastructure.
